Proposed Bylaw Amendment Changes
Your participation in this bylaw amendment vote is important, and we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to review the information and cast your ballot. Members may vote early or vote at the Annual Meeting on October 17th.
A ballot will be included with the September edition of the Texas Co-op Power magazine. Completed ballots may be returned to any Jackson EC office, mailed back (you may include it with your bill payment), or completed in person at a Jackson EC office. Please note that each member may vote only once.
Members who submit their ballots by October 2 will be entered into a drawing for one of three $50 Jackson EC bill credits. The drawing will be held on October 2 at 4:00 p.m. Ballots must be received at one of our offices no later than 4:00 p.m. on October 2 before the drawing begins. Ballots postmarked October 2 but received after the due date will not be eligible for the drawing, but will still be counted as a vote. We are not responsible for ballots that may be received late due to the mail system.

Director Elections
Pursuant to the bylaws of Jackson Electric Cooperative, no election of directors will be conducted at the upcoming annual meeting. The number of nominees submitted was equal to the number of director positions open; therefore, in accordance with the bylaws, the nominees will be declared elected by acclamation.
The following directors have been elected by acclamation:
Bill Orton, District 1
Tom Hudgins, District 9
Jimmy Roach, District 10

2026 Election Information
District 1 Incumbent - Bill Orton
District 1 Incumbent - Bill Orton
Bill Orton currently serves as the representative for District 1. Orton is a resident of the Sargent area and has served on the JEC board since 2023.
District 1, which includes the Sargent area of Matagorda County.
District 9 Incumbent - Tom Hudgins
District 9 Incumbent - Tom Hudgins
Tom Hudgins currently serves as the representative for District 9. Hudgins is a resident of the Cedar Lane community and has served as a director since 1987.
District 9 includes the area south and east of Bay City/Van Vleck along FM 457 from the Bay City Airport to Sargent.
District 10 Incumbent - Jimmy Roach
District 10 Incumbent - Jimmy Roach
Jimmy Roach currently serves as the representative for District 10. Roach is a resident of the area North of Edna to Speaks, including Morales, has served as a direction since 2021.
District 10, which is the area of Jackson County north of Highway 59 and west of FM 530. Currently represented by Jimmy Roach.
