Maximum
horizontal distance from the transformer to the meter is 200 feet.
Minimum trench depth is thirty six inches.
Only underground meter bases will be accepted.
Metal conduit or gray PVC (hereafter referred to as conduit) is allowed. Minimum size is two and one-half inch diameter.
2 wide radius ninety degree "L"'s are required, one installed at the house and the other left on-site for Cooperative installation. Ten feet of conduit is also required on-site for use during installation.
No more than one wide radius forty five degree angle is allowed in line.
A pull string of suitable strength should be installed in the conduit and secured at both ends.
The consumer is responsible for furnishing the trench and furnishing and installing the conduit. The transformer end should be dug to a distance of two feet from the transformer pad. The house end should be attached to the meter base. The Cooperative requires an inspection prior to filling or conductor installation. During filling, warning tape is required to be installed one foot above the conduit, the total length of the trench.
The Cooperative will furnish the conductor and the warning tape, dig from the end of the trench to and under the pad, install the wide radius "L" with enough conduit to enter the transformer, and install the conductor.
If the meter loop is on a pole rather than a house, a main breaker is required outside of the meter base on the consumer's side.
An eight foot by one-half inch copper clad ground rod is required to be installed in undisturbed soil.
Any other pipes, lines, etc. in this trench must have a minimum of twelve inches of separation.
