  • Maximum horizontal distance from pole to house is 200 feet.
  • Minimum trench depth is 36 inches.
  • Only underground meter bases will be accepted.
  • Metal conduit or schedule 40 gray PVC (hereafter referred to as conduit) is allowed. The minimum size is 2 1/2 inch diameter.
  • Wide radius 90 degree "L"'s are required on each end (pole and house).
  • No more than one wide radius 45 degree angle is allowed between the pole and house.
  • A pull string of suitable strength is required to be installed in the conduit.
  • An appropriate size weather head and 20 feet of additional conduit for Cooperative use during installation is required.
  • The consumer is responsible for trenching and furnishing and installing the conduit. The pole end should be higher than ground level and two inches from the pole horizontally with the pull string secured and the open end of the conduit covered to prevent moisture accumulation. The house end of the conduit should be connected to the meter base and the pull string secured to prevent loss. The Cooperative requires an inspection prior to any backfilling. Warning tape is required to be installed in the trench after twelve inches of fill has been replaced. The tape should extend from the house to the pole.
  • The Cooperative will supply the warning tape and conductor. The Cooperative will install the conductor and attach the conduit and weather head supplied by the consumer to the pole.
  • Any other cables, wires, pipes, etc. in the trench must have a minimum of twelve inches separation.
